September 11, 2001

                                                           9/11 Memorial

September 11,2001 was a tragic day for the entire United States of America. A day that started of as a normal, beautiful, day in New York City. No one could have imagined the monstrosity that would be held that day. At exactly 8:45 on a clear Tuesday morning the north tower that made up the famous "Twin Towers" was hit by an American airlines boeing 676. People were terrified to say the least. They believed it was some sort of freak accident, but what never crossed people's minds was that it was a terrorist  attack! Hundreds of people were instantly killed and others were trapped in floors above floor #80. Evacuations commenced instantly and the luckiest were brought out of the crumbling building while unfortunate others continued trapped waiting for death as it was nearly impossible for an evacuation team to reach the victims. Desperation soon kicked in and people began jumping out of the building in fear of dying either burnt of having the entire building collapse on them. Eighteen minutes later another plane was spotted heading towards the other still remaining tower. It hit again and there was absolutely no doubt that our country was under a massive attack. The first tower soon collapsed leaving the streets filled with ashes, burnt clothing items, and even burnt human remains. Thirty minutes later the second tower also collapsed and the same sight was brought upon. American airlines flight 77 circled over the pentagon while millions watched the events unraveling from NYC.Then the plane went straight forth hitting the west side of the pentagon where the military headquarters were located. Another plane was also high jacked but passengers took control over it once again and slammed in into a rural area in Virginia. The destination of that plane is still unknown even after 13 years of the attack. I really have absolutely no memories of the tragic event as I was only a year old,but till this day America the Brave still remembers and honors those who lost their lives.
