Obedience is the key to freedom no matter what. When you are obedient you are given responsibilities and freedom that you would not be given if you were not to be obedient. The more obedient you are the more your parents and everyone around you start treating you like an adult. Only the most obedient of the people are given the best of the options or rewards for their obedience. Choosing the right and following instructions gets you on a good path.

This quote means that being obedient can many times get you a lot in life. When you are obedient with your parents perhaps everything gets better in your relationship because they will give you more freedom and choices rather than when you do not listen to them. It also means that if you want to be left alone to do something, showing that you are responsible enough by obeying makes it easier for others to trust you on your own whether it is staying home alone or going out on your own.
