Final: Part 1

   1.    Some of the things I liked about this class are that we have the opportunity to research medical careers and have a better look at what they are like. Another thing I liked about this class is that we learned many computer skills that will be very helpful in the future whether it is inside or outside of school.
   2.    I didn’t really have any complaints about this class during the year. The only thing that I did not fully enjoy is that we don’t really have free time that often anymore.
   3.    A recommendation for this class is to give a bit more of free time as often as possible.
   4.    I really did do my absolute best in this class all year because I thoroughly enjoyed it. All the Student Success Statements as well as the research of different careers were all so interesting that I put in a lot of effort into doing my very best to accomplish them every time I came into class.
   5.    I am reading my 100+ goal book every chance I get because it reminds me of the goals I have set for myself which allows me to keep working towards reaching those goals.
   6.    I am fully committed to being a CTR person because with time and Mr. Haymore’s teachings, I have learned that being able to choose what is right can affect your life in the most positive way possible.

   7.    One of the things I will always remember about this class is to think things through before I am to make my decisions as they can and will impact my life from now until the rest of my days.

Student Success Statement

The ultimate choice
Of all the choices you will ever make, one choice supersedes all others-the ultimate choice. This one choice will help you to always make correct decisions. This one choice, The Ultimate choice, is your keystone to being the best student and person you can possibly be. This one choice will forever affect you for good more than any other choice. THE ULTIMATE CHOICE is: To be a CTR person-TO ALWAYS CHOOSE THE RIGHT!!!

Reflection: Being able to choose what is right over what is not can and will deeply affect your life for the better. When we differentiate the right from the wrong, our decisions become a lot easier to make. If we choose to be a CTR person, we are ultimately choosing to do what is right and at the right moments. Doing what is right will only bring forth blessings to not only yourself but also everyone around you.

Student Success Statement

“A man without a goal is like a ship without a rudder.”- Thomas Carlyle

What this statement is indicating is that someone without goals in life will not be able to clearly determine where they are headed, much like a ship without the rudder that gives it direction. Goals give us a sense of direction, as we will do just about anything in order to reach those goals no matter what it takes. A ship is very much alike because without its rudder there would be no determining in which direction it will move. An example of the meaning of the statement is, for example, when we set a goal to be something later on in life whether it is a lawyer or something else. With the goal kept in mind, we are able to follow the path that will lead us there.

Student Success Statement

“If there is beauty in character, there will be harmony in the home. If there is harmony in the home, there will be order in the nation. If there is order in the nation, there will be peace in the world. Conclusion: If there is beauty in character, there will be peace in the world.”- Chinese Proverb

What this proverb means is that the peace in the world is initiated by the peace in people’s homes as a result of their good character and virtues. The proverb indicates what must go on in order to create a peaceful world from the roots.

"The Six Pillars of Character"

“The Six Pillars of Character”

1.) Trustworthiness: To be trustworthy means that you are a person who is able to be trusted by others no matter what. Being trustworthy is very important when establishing relations with people. It allows you to be given more tasks or privileges without being questioned. If on the contrary you are not a trustworthy person, people will not rely on you to get things done.
2.) Respect: Being respectful is perhaps one of the most important qualities that anyone can have because they open up opportunities. If you are able to treat other people with respect, there is no reason for why they should treat you any differently.
3.) Responsibility: Responsibility helps a person demonstrate their capacity to get things done in a correct manner. Responsibility is needed on a daily basis as it can help you in school, work, and in your life in general.
4.) Fairness: Fairness is held by a person who believes in doing what is right and when it is right to do. Believing in justice and equality comes with the possession fairness.
5.) Caring: We can care for many things in the world, for example, our friends and family as well as our pets. Caring helps you to be able to give and receive love. Caring can be shown by being compassionate.
6.) Citizenship: Being a good citizen is also extremely important as it helps you stay away from trouble and make the place you live in much more desirable. In order to show citizenship you need to obey authorities and attend to your responsibilities as a citizen.

Reflection: The six pillars of character are influential in our  everyday lives and should be kept in mind when making decisions.

Student Success Statement

“I would prefer even to fail with honor than win by cheating.”-Sophocles

This statement is very important because it can be applied to one’s life on a daily basis. It reminds us that doing things honestly and losing is an absolute better option than winning by cheating. In a soccer game for example, the better team is always the one who plays by the rules whether they win or lose. The team that cheats is and will always be the dirty team who did not have dignity and self-respect that is necessary so they turned to cheating in order to feel better about themselves.

Memorial Day

Memorial Day

Memorial Day is a holiday celebrated in the United States on the last Monday of the month of May. The holiday is a day to commemorate the courageous men and women who died while serving the country and our people in the military. Memorial Day became an official federal holiday in the year 1997. In remembrance of the lives lost, we celebrate by visiting memorials or participating in family gatherings as well as by participating in parades. Normally, people will organize barbecues, as Memorial Day, unofficially marks the beginning of summer for many people. During Memorial Day, in order to show respect, I will be attending a family gathering.
